The Friends of Beard is an independent not-for-profit 501(c)(3) fundraising organization formed in 2015 with the sole mission to support Daniel C. Beard Elementary School.

Daniel C Beard School located at 6445 W. Strong Street, Chicago, IL is a specialty Chicago Public School that services students with special needs from Pre-K to 3rd grade ranging from 3 to 8 years old. Staff members are highly trained specialists in working with students on the spectrum of autism, developmental delays and other special needs. In addition to our specialty programs, we also have a blended preschool program comprised of general education students. For more information on Daniel C. Our mission is to enrich and support the academic, safety and social opportunities of all students attending Beard School. Our role is to support the school’s academic, safety, and social-emotional needs, particularly when it comes to supporting school events, curriculum and materials, teacher professional development, sensory room, school supplies and equipment, safety needs, school beautification projects and all school related events, needs and projects.

Friends of Beard takes in funds regularly from generous parents and community members and their employers through corporate donations and employee matching programs. Materials, supplies and other resources are accepted to support our school programs and initiatives. Volunteering your time and services are also much needed and appreciated.
